Delegation and Supervision (The Brian Tracy Success Library) : Brian Tracy :

Sort order. May 29, Steven rated it it was ok. Has what sounds like some good information, but I can't get over how it sounds so condescending towards employees. As if the person doing the managing somehow knows everything about the work and the employees know nothing. He actually talks about treating them like children on one case. That seems to be a common issue with management books. May 16, Ali Arabzadeh rated it it was ok Shelves: business , management , translation. Good applicable advice.

Mar 23, Dmitri Yarynych rated it liked it. There are a lot of interesting advice but in general the book feels like an example of corporate-era enterprise style management guidelines, mostly are still good, but somehow feel a but out of date.

For example — the "father" thing in supervising employees sound like total bullshit for me, "leader" — yes, but "father", come on. Feb 14, Serhiy Gorpynich rated it it was ok. Short and useful book. Dec 14, Elliott rated it liked it. It's a very quick read. Some parts of it were good - the discussion on "reverse delegation" was interesting. I liked that he reiterated that one of the most stressful aspects of many jobs is simply not knowing in concrete terms what you're supposed to do.

Having an ambiguous task can be more stressful than having an overwhelming one. However, much of it was just too abstract to be particularly useful, other than as useful reminders. And some of it is problematic. For example, he cites t Hm For example, he cites the DISC personality system - please stop.

Very objective, with a good size of pages.

The thing I really didn't like this book is the completely lack of references, there is no science behind it, just the author sharing what he thinks is true. Some short stories he used as reference to the lessons aren't enough.
